WhatsApp messages
Connecting your clinic's own WhatsApp Business account, what Angel sends, and the message language setting.
Your number, your account
Angel sends WhatsApp messages from your clinic's own WhatsApp Business account — your number, your name on the patient's phone, and Meta bills your account directly. Angel never sends from a shared number and never marks up message costs.
What Angel sends
- Appointment confirmations when a booking is made.
- Appointment reminders before the visit, with Confirm and Cancel buttons — the patient's tap updates the appointment in Angel automatically.
- One-time codes for the public booking page and patient portal sign-in.
- Prescription PDFs, lab slips, recall nudges and waitlist offers, each from its own workflow.
Messages are best-effort by design: a WhatsApp hiccup never blocks the clinical action, and each message shows a deliverability marker so the desk can see what actually arrived.
The one-time codes are the exception, because nothing else carries them: the public booking page and the patient portal only switch on once WhatsApp is connected, and they stop offering to verify a number if the credentials are later removed.
Message language
Clinic Settings carries a patient-message language: Arabic, English, or both (Arabic first, then English). This applies to automated patient messages; the booking page's own language is a separate setting.
Setting it up
Connecting WhatsApp is a one-time setup on the web: enter your Meta WhatsApp Business credentials in Clinic Settings, and register the message templates with Meta (Angel provides tooling and instructions). If your message language is both, register the Arabic template translations too — a missing translation means that language's copy can't send.
Still stuck?
If you already use Angel, ask from inside it — Help & support carries your clinic, screen and app version with the message, so nobody has to describe their setup. Otherwise write to us and a human will answer.
