Notifications

The bell, mobile push, choosing what you're told about, and quiet hours.

Two layers: the record and the interrupt

Every notification is a row under the bell — on web and mobile, with an unread count. On mobile it can also arrive as a push to your phone. These are deliberately separate: silencing your phone never deletes the record. A result posted at 2 a.m. doesn't buzz you, but it's waiting under the bell in the morning.

Who gets told what

Angel routes each event to the person it concerns, or to the whole role when it's a shared job:

  • Yours specifically: a lab result on a test you ordered, an answer to a referral you sent, your evening appointments digest. These go to you alone — nobody else can subscribe to them, because they name your patients.
  • The team's: a portal booking notifies everyone on reception; a patient arriving notifies the doctor they're booked with. Whoever acts first, acts.
  • Never just "someone": Angel doesn't track who's on shift, so shared events go to everyone whose job it is.

You're never notified about your own actions.

Choosing what you get

My Settings lists every event with a switch. Turning an event off stops both the row and the push for it. Separately, mobile push has a master switch and quiet hours (clinic-local, fine across midnight) — both silence only the phone; the bell still collects everything.

The doctor's daily digest

Practitioners get one evening notification with tomorrow's schedule — count and first appointment — instead of a ping per booking. Patients still get their own per-appointment WhatsApp reminders; see Appointments.

Still stuck?

If you already use Angel, ask from inside it — Help & support carries your clinic, screen and app version with the message, so nobody has to describe their setup. Otherwise write to us and a human will answer.
