Public booking page
Letting patients book themselves — the booking page on your clinic's address, phone verification, and where bookings land.
What patients see
With public booking on, your clinic's address gets a booking page: yourclinic.angelhealth.app/book. Patients pick a doctor and a slot from the doctor's real schedule — only genuinely free times show. The page's language is set in Clinic Settings.
Phone verification
Booking takes two steps: the patient enters their details, then confirms a one-time code sent to their phone on WhatsApp. No accounts, no passwords — and no anonymous bookings clogging the calendar. Repeated wrong codes lock the attempt out for a while on purpose.
That code is the only thing standing between the booking page and a calendar full of made-up numbers, so the page needs WhatsApp connected to work at all (WhatsApp messages). Without it, patients see a short "please call the clinic" page with your phone number instead of a form that would strand them waiting for a code that can't arrive.
Where bookings land
A patient booking arrives as a scheduled appointment, exactly like one the desk made, and reception is notified. If the patient is new, a chart is created from their booking details; if their phone number is known, the booking attaches to the existing chart.
Deposits
If your deposit policy asks for one (see Payments & deposits), the booking page collects it online through your own gateway — optional lets the patient choose, required holds the slot until it's paid.
Turning it on
Public booking is a switch in Clinic Settings → Features, and needs a live subscription and WhatsApp connected — the switch refuses to go on without both, and tells you which one is missing. Turn it off any time — the page goes away; existing appointments are untouched.
Still stuck?
If you already use Angel, ask from inside it — Help & support carries your clinic, screen and app version with the message, so nobody has to describe their setup. Otherwise write to us and a human will answer.
