Deleting your Angel account

Last updated 9 August 2026

You can delete your Angel staff account yourself, from the app or from the web, without asking us. This page says what that removes, what stays and why. Please read it first: it cannot be undone.

How to delete it

In the mobile app: More → Settings → Delete account.

On the web: sign in, open Settings, and use Delete account at the bottom of the profile tab.

Either one asks you to confirm, then deletes the account immediately and signs you out.

If you can no longer sign in

Write to hello@angelhealth.app from the email address on the account. We will verify you and delete it, and we answer within a few working days.

What is removed

Your sign-in — permanently revoked, on every device, at once. Sessions you already have stop working immediately.

Your profile: name, email address, phone number, photo, biography, specialty and licence number.

Your membership of every clinic you work at, and with it your access to their patients. If you were a billable doctor, the clinic’s seat is freed at the same moment.

Your notifications, your notification settings, and the devices they were sent to.

What stays, and why

The medical records you wrote stay with the clinic. A visit note, a prescription, a lab review or a referral is the clinic’s record of a patient’s care, and the law requires the clinic to keep it for years after the visit. Deleting a member of staff cannot delete a patient’s history.

Your name stays on the records you signed. A medical record has to say who wrote it — a prescription with no prescriber is not a prescription. When you delete your account, the name you had at the time is frozen onto the records you had already signed: it is not removed, and it will not change again.

The audit trail keeps your name against the actions you took, for the retention period the clinic’s country requires. That trail is what lets a clinic show its records have not been quietly altered, so nobody can edit it — including us.

Invoices and payment records stay, because tax law requires it.

Everything else about you goes.

If you own a clinic

A clinic must have an owner. If you are its only one, transfer ownership to another member first: the app names the clinics that are in the way and refuses the deletion until you have. Once someone else is the owner, deleting your own account works normally.

If you are a patient, not clinic staff

The patient portal does not create an Angel account. You sign in with a one-time code sent to your phone, and signing out ends that session.

Your medical record belongs to the clinic that treats you, not to Angel, so a request to delete it goes to the clinic. Contact your clinic; if it asks us to carry the deletion out, we will.
